001. zombie hunts & boyle heights

[ at around 18:30, an audio call is made throughout for all residents to check their phones for a network announcement. ]

i need 2 things from you

1. as most of you should be aware, kei and i have been working on finding a cure for the virus. we're in need of more test subjects aka zombies. jags will be overseeing this, so, if you're interested in helping out, you'll be coordinating all hunts and captures with him. we need about 2 for now.

and before anyone asks, we're not getting the zombies from the parking structures because there is no way we're compromising the safety of the settlement by opening the doors there.

2. i know jags has been concentrating his efforts on exploring up north, but i think we're going to benefit if we start expanding to the east too. who would be interested in going to boyle heights with me? i want to eventually set a course for us towards east l.a. but i need the areas leading up to there assessed for their risk levels first.

we're going to be setting out tomorrow morning at 7. once we reach boyle heights, we'll be splitting up into pairs to cover more grounds. remember to memorize routes. you can find maps in the security building.

if you have questions, you can ask them. i'm sure kei and jags can cover the first part. i'll cover the latter.

Why not head west? Towards the ocean?

i'm not opposed to people exploring to the west or the south
but i want to go east for all the scrapyards that way
we're not going to find a shortage of supplies if we manage to break through that area

From the looks of it, you got plenty of supplies in all directions. Just depends on the kind you're looking for. Know you ain't been through all the buildings around here. Still got stuff in them. Besides, ocean means fishing. Fishing means food.

we do but it doesn't hurt to have more options
we've pretty much squeezed every last drop of good parts out of the areas nearest aqora
there are a bunch to the east and i want to open up that door for us if possible
i'm not saying we're going to stop searching in other districts but that's where my interest currently lies

we haven't gone further out west because it's too high risk
too many swarms, too many obstacles
we'd love to take advantage of the ocean if we could
but the reason why we haven't is because it's just too dangerous

Highway on all the maps goes right to it. Send a group out to use the cars to block off the ramps and create a straight run. Probably take a few weeks, but then you'll have a straight run and what? An hours drive to get there?

he would be able to provide the support needed for that endeavor
